Steel Audrey
Bio

Steel Audrey is a roots/americana singer-songwriter with a “rustic, old world sound packaged inside the cargo car of a freight train that has you chugging across the country” (Songoid). Steel Audrey’s ability to tell a story through song is reminiscent of Kristofferson, Dylan and Springsteen. His blue-collar origins are evident in both narrative and delivery .."extra powerful and raspy... It’s not a pretty picture, but then, life never is.” (Greyowl Point)

A bare-knuckle boxer with a soft side - that’s Steel Audrey.

Influenced by Hank Williams, Kris Kristofferson and Ryan Adams, he can go from powerful and raucous in one moment to melodic and sorrowful the next. Singing embellished tales of seedy characters set to a gritty and energetic live performance; his blue-collar origins are evident in both his narrative and delivery. Whether past or present, his stories give voice to the oppressed, the dark horse, and the downtrodden.

Steel Audrey expresses a way of life now past; one which is rooted in the Canadian prairies, on a small-town farm where he grew up. The songs on his first album (recorded with award-winning producer Matthew Rogers of Neighbourhood Productions) are a collection of stories that have been crafted over the years through performances and collaborations with other songwriters and troubadours.

He released his debut self-titled EP on July 3, 2012. and followed it up with three successful western Canadian tours. He is currently back in the studio, writing and recording their first full-length album which is set to be released in fall, 2013.
